Loyalty: Loyalty is about having the backs of those who had my back during bad times. It is tested during good times. For instance, when I was new to Canada and had no experience in bartending or working as a cashier, I was hired and trained by a particular company to learn the job. Now I am a professional and can easily find a slightly better-paid job in a different place with my experience. However, I still choose to stay here for at least a year and give the company more than it gave me before moving on. If I don’t do this, I will suffer from tremendous inner conflicts because they lifted me and helped me settle down, and I forgot about them now that I am doing better.
Excellence: Mastery over one's craft cannot be faked, copied, or bought; it can only be cultivated and harnessed with purposeful hard work over time. I am never concerned by money, fame, or success because I know they are a byproduct of excellence. Whatever I do, from my studies to fitness, to religion, I always try to become the best. All the suffering in pursuit of excellence brings me joy, whereas the short-term pleasure of taking the path of least resistance doesn't satisfy the intense hunger in me to be the best. Growing up, many people from family, friends, and society doubted me. I overcame it all with great success; now that I am doing well in life, I am still wired mentally to keep pushing past my limits with one extra rep in the gym, one additional hour of study, and one less distraction at a time. Excellence has served as my best friend so far, and I have decided to be loyal to excellence till the end of time.
Love: I have a big family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and siblings. We love each other a lot, and I try to maintain my ties with them. In this world where every man is for himself, family is the ultimate place where everyone is there for each other without greed or ulterior motives. I will achieve all my career, fitness, and life goals to become a man my family will be proud of. Surprising them and making them happy is my inspiration. It helps me to endure hard times and come out better.
Enthusiasm: The eagerness to understand the why in everything is like the everlasting fuel that nourishes my existence. I am always enthusiastic about developing new insights about my passions and routine daily tasks to optimize my progress. For instance, how can I make chicken breasts a little juicer to eat so I can stick to my diet for longer? The path of enthusiasm brings me fulfillment, which is not otherwise possible, by settling within a box, not trying to grow, and reaching above and beyond what I have already accomplished.
Humility: When I started handball, bodybuilding, table tennis, or any other sport or academic pursuit, I always noticed a few toppers who were arrogant and didn’t show the best behavior. Still, they were accomplished, and others felt out of place to tell them anything; I took it as my mission to become the best, ultimate, and absolute in whatever I do and maintain the same smile, politeness, and humble attitude that I had when I was at level zero. This way, beyond accomplishments, trophies, and medals, I could inspire the generation of people to have the character of Gold.
